Amy Kovach was diagnosed with breast cancer in March 2009, She went through 15 months of active treatment, and through that experience became active in social media. She will share some of her story and relate her experiences as part of an online patient support community. She is truly inspirational and will shed some real experiences into our conversation. She will also be available for TableStorming with our panelists.

Anthony is the CEO of Healthy Humans, a doctor-directed solutions provider developing software platforms to provide greater connectivity between physicians and patients. Healthy Humans is demonstrating spectacular health outcomes at greatly reduced costs, and has already touched the lives of many people. Anthony is also the President of the Open Solutions Alliance (OSA), a non-profit global organization focused on addressing the interoperability of open source amongst business infrastructures. Anthony was also recently chosen to chair the Healthcare Working Group for the Open Source for America coalition. Prior to this, Anthony was the VP/GM of the very successful startup Open Source Business within the $6 billion Unisys Corporation. Anthony was named as one of the “top business leaders who matter the most” by LinuxWorld magazine and regularly presents on the model of Web 2.0 & mass-collaboration and how they are changing all facets of business and the world. As well, Anthony is the chairman of the CIO Institute for the greater Philadelphia Alliance for Capital and Technology. Anthony holds eight patents around enterprise software design and is an Electrical Engineering graduate of Drexel University.

Meryl Weinreb

Retired pharmaceutical marketer
Meryl Weinreb is a retired pharmaceutical marketing executive. Prior to her retirement, she was the global commercial voice on emerging neuroscience product development teams working on new treatments for cognitive impairment and pain AstraZeneca, one of the world’s leading manufacturers of prescription medicines. During Ms.Weinreb’s tenure at AstraZeneca, she also held the position of Director of Patient Programs for the firm’s US oncology therapies for lung, prostate and breast cancer where she lead awarding winning work in disease awareness and patient education.
Prior to joining AstraZeneca, she held progressively senior marketing management positions in such categories as eye care (Alcon Labs), OTC medications (Schering-Plough), and consumer package goods (General Mills).
Currently, Ms Weinreb serves on the Executive Board of the Philadelphia affiliate of the Susan G. Komen for the Cure, a non-profit organization that educates the community about breast cancer, and funds research, screening and support programs.
